Sometimes the Intensity of Negative Emotions Can Be Overwhelming…
Wouldn’t you agree?
But you’ll be pleased to know that at the end of this email is a small gift for you.
When I talk about negative emotions, I’m talking about anger, fear, uncertainty, even anxiety.
I know sometimes I get overwhelming feelings of anxiety and I’ve even had to contend with my raging anger.
Being an Empath, I am immensely susceptible to energy and other people’s feelings. Dealing with overwhelming emotions my whole life has been a tricky one to navigate.
Luckily for me, I’ve found support in various ways to provide me with the tools and techniques to help guide me through these tumultuous times. I have to say, through regularly practising these techniques, my emotions no longer control me.
Of course, I’m human so I will still experience these feelings now and again but I am much better equipped at dealing with my emotions.
The gift I have for you today, is a technique used in NLP called disassociation. It’s a technique that allows us to separate ourselves from the emotion to give us the space to:
- regulate our emotions & nervous system
- be able to look at the problem from an objective point of view
- think of a more creative solution
As I guide you through this practise, I will ask you to ‘come out of your body’ – and by this, we are imagining ourselves looking at ourselves from above. If it was a picture, you’d be able to look down and see your whole body and the surroundings you are in. I hope this makes sense!
There can be some negative connotations to the word ‘disassociate’ – but as you’ll come to find out, by doing so, your negative feelings will dissipate, you’ll find yourself back into a state of calm and ready to tackle the problem in a more conducive way.
I would love to know what you think; you can comment on the video or even better, send me a message.
Sending you so much love,
Ayesha x
