What Would The BEST Version Of You Look Like?
Is it easy to imagine?
Or is it hard to imagine?
Or…do you allow yourself to dream a little & then scoff at the idea it will never happen?
If this is you, I just want you to play a little…Not take it so seriously. Allow yourself to dream…or just at least until you get the end of this newsletter.
As we are nearing the end of the year, I wanted to leave you with a gift that will see you way into your future. I’ve taken the idea from a technique that I use in my sessions.
It’s called the SPECIFY goal.
It’s a process where you envision yourself 6months to a year from now using Timeline Therapy™.
For the purposes of this email, I will give you step by step guidance on how to gain more clarity around the future you.
A question I like to ask clients is:
What does (insert your name) 2.0 look like?
For example: What does Ayesha 2.0 look like?
Contemplate this question for a little while.
What would the BEST version of you look like?
I want you to get really specific.
Think about a particular goal you want to have achieved a year from now. Whether that be: having a better work life balance, a career opportunity you’ve been hoping for, a self- care practise you have been meaning to implement more regularly, or just quite simply being more content with yourself & at peace.
You can do this as a little meditation practice…
Close your eyes.
Take in 3 deep belly breaths…
Relax & centre yourselves.
And ask yourself these questions (based on you, a year from now):
- What day/time of day is it?
- Where will I be?
- What will I be doing?
- How will I look?
- Who will be with me?
- What will I be saying to myself?
For each of these 6 things, I want you to dig deeper & get specific on what you’re wearing, the temperature inside or outside, the noises you may or may not hear around you, think about every detail on your surroundings.
And hold this image in your mind.
Breathe into it.
As you breathe out, imagine breathing more life into this image so that the colours are getting brighter & more vibrant. The image is more focused, it’s sharper & the noises are louder.
Keep breathing more & more life into it until you are in the image itself.
Stay there.
Feel the warm feeling wash over you & imagine this isn’t a dream but it is reality.
It’s your reality.
Dream Big, allow yourself to full immerse yourself in this dream version of you.
