The Spaces In-between the Noise

The past couple weeks have been all about finding moments of stillness and quietening down the mind.

If you imagine white noise – my mind has been like that on constant for the past two weeks, the longer I ignore or don’t follow my practise the more the white noise intensifies. So much so, that my head has been so full of noise that I can’t even focus. It’s been so distracting sometimes, it makes me feel sick.

However, I am so proud of myself and my body for being able to find the stillness again, focus on my breathing and find the little spaces between all the noise and breathing into it. It takes time, it takes patience and it takes dedication. I’ve dedicated myself to finding the spaces in between the noise, to soften and find calm and clarity within my mind again.

It’s not been easy, I’ve found myself getting frustrated, annoyed and impatient with myself for not finding it soon enough or holding onto it long enough. But I continue to breathe and allow myself to feel. Feel all the energy around me and breathe into it. Let go of thoughts and breathe. Breathe into all the spaces between the noise and find my peace of mind again.

This is an opportunity for you, to also find spaces between the noise. If you’re mind is anything like mine, you will be incredibly grateful for those moments of silence. 

Take in a deep breathe, breathe all the way down to your belly, & exhale fully and slowly.

Repeat this until you find a moment of stillness & calm wash over you. 

Like I mentioned before, it does require dedication, practice & patience.
